A self-portrait made to reflect the creation self through the words of others. The work began with me painting a self-portrait and cutting this into 30 pieces. 27 of these were each shown to a friend or family member. I asked them to describe what they saw however they saw fit. Some gave technical descriptions, while some wrote what it made them feel or their interpretations of the image. They were asked to write this description behind the painting. I could not meet them all in person and so some descriptions were sent to me online and I wrote them down. Lastly 3 pieces were described by me. The pieces were then tied together using jute string.
This work was made in December 2021-January 2022.
