This film shows kolam designs being drawn on the ground using a plaster sculpture of a woman’s face. Kolam drawing is a tradition followed in certain parts of South India. It is drawn in the morning at the entrance to the house using white rice flour. My grandmother used to do this and it is her daily ritual and role in the household that inspired this work.
